According to studies in the New York Times on June 1st, 2011, "Members of the clergy now suffer from obesity, hypertension and depression at rates higher than most Americans. In the last decade, their use of antidepressants has risen, while their life expectancy has fallen. Many would change jobs if they could. Members of a profession once associated with rosy-cheeked longevity have become unhealthy and unhappy."
According to recent surveys of pastors in the United States:
90% feel inadequately trained to cope with the demands of ministry.
80% say ministry has had a negative effect on their marriage and family.
40% consider quitting every Monday morning.
Approximately 1,500 pastors leave their assignments each month due to moral failure, spiritual burnout or contention with their local congregations.
More than 70% of pastors do not have a close friend with whom they can openly share their struggles.
We come alongside Christian leaders to enrich their marriages and ministries for the sake of God's Kingdom.
